Which products will win distinction this year? Here’s a recap of last year’s
winners to spark your enthusiasm for 2010’s eagerly awaited announcements.

Beauty industry professionals are gearing up for the most highly regarded product event of 2010: The CEW Beauty Awards.This year’s awards honor products in more than 30 categories as voted on by CEW members, the experts in the beauty industry.

The event kicks off with a pre-award show demonstration.Held this year on March 3rd at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, the product demonstration features a bounty of beauty products—hundreds of new products from beauty companies worldwide—on display for thousands of attendees to sniff, rub and sample.

This means big exposure for award entrants, as it allows them to showcase their products and educate voting members.Attendees receive a gift bag with products from participating entrants to let the lasting benefits of their product really sink in.

CEW members vote for their favorite products, and the finalists from this pool are then selected by CEW board members.All ballots are confidential, and tabulated by Ernst & Young. Winners are announced at the annual Beauty Awards Luncheon on May 21st at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan.

In 2009, there were nearly 550 entries for the CEW Beauty Awards, including 140 finalists from 28 categories of mass products (sold at drugstores) and prestige products (sold at department and specialty stores).

Listed below, by category, are all the 2009 CEW Beauty Award winners, including the winner of the Indie Beauty Award, a category designed specifically for the brightest new startup in the world of beauty.
